Cold Spring Aglow, featuring Butterfield Bicentennial Celebration Activities
Sponsored by the Cold Spring Chamber of Commerce, join this family-friendly evening as the community comes together for a candlelit holiday walk in the village. You’ll enjoy special performances and stroll the illuminated village streets as local businesses extend their hours for an evening of holiday shopping and festive cheer in our beautiful home of Cold Spring, New York.
This year’s Aglow will also include a festive continuation of the Julia L. Butterfield Bicentennial Celebration.
The Julia L. Butterfield Memorial Library and the Putnam History Museum invite you to the Butterfield Library at 4:00 pm for the Butterfield Bicentennial Writing Contest Award Ceremony, where student winners will share excerpts from their essays and poems, followed by hot chocolate & treats.
At 4:30 pm, starting at the library, embark on a brief guided historic stroll along Main Street exploring Julia Butterfield’s life and legacy. Explore an outdoor pop-up exhibition created by the Putnam History Museum that will delve into this important local figure’s history, with caroling along the way, and enhanced by the holiday warmth of the Cold Spring Aglow luminaries.
